Career Development Loans

Many people are now leaving College and University without the experience they need to get a job and a Career Development Loan (CDL) is designed to help you pay for vocational or occupational training, which will lead to employment. The payments are deferred and you can usually borrow up to £8k which is expected to help with two year's of training. Once you have completed your training you only have one month before you begin making repayments, so you need to make sure you can find employment.

Throughout the duration of the course the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) pay the loan interest and they will continue to do this for up to one month after the end of your training. The following four Banks that can provide this type of Career development Loan and they are: Barclays, Clydesdale, the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Cooperative.
